Solomon, M.D. is a board-certified adult, child and adolescent psychiatrist with extensive experience in guiding people to return to their natural state of psychological health and well-being. Bob completed his adult psychiatry training at Cornell University and has been practicing in San Diego since finishing a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at UCSD in 1992. Bob believes that our natural state is to be mentally healthy. This state of equilibrium never goes away; it only becomes obscured through our learned patterns of thinking. When people lose contact with this natural state, they can feel out of emotional balance and fall into a spiral of negative thinking. It is our thinking about the circumstances in our lives rather than the circumstances themselves that causes us distress. Each person has the ability to access this innate well-being at any moment regardless of his or her situation. Once we understand this simple but fundamental truth, change can occur. |
